Award-winning performer who advocates for substance abuse awareness following the loss of his child
About Art Linkletter:
A television and radio star for more than 60 years, Art Linkletter has performed in two of the longest running shows in broadcast history: "House Party," which ran on daytime CBS television and radio for 25 years, and "People Are Funny," which ran on nighttime NBC television and radio for 19 years.

Linkletter has been the recipient of numerous awards and honors, including four Emmy nominations and two Emmy wins, a Grammy Award, ten honorary doctorate degrees, and the award in which he takes particular pride: Grandfather of the Year. The author of 23 books, Linkletter's most popular work is "Kids Say the Darndest Things," a bestseller in the #1 spot for two consecutive years and one of the top 14 bestsellers in American publishing history. His most recent national bestseller is "Old Age is Not for Sissies."

Linkletter has served on President Nixon's National Advisory Council for Drug Abuse, the Presidential Commission to Improve Reading in the United States, and President Reagan's Commission on Fitness and Physical Education. He was also named Ambassador to Australia and Commissioner General to the 150th Australian Anniversary Celebration by President Reagan. Most recently, Linkletter was named National Spokesman of the United Seniors Association. His involvement in USA's programs includes speaking at press conferences, meeting with key members of Congress and the Bush administration, participating in talk radio interviews and producing a nationally-syndicated weekly column on important seniors issues. He has served on the Board of Directors for the French Foundation for Alzheimer's Disease, and has been a vocal and active spokesperson for drug abuse prevention for several years, a crusade he began following his own daughter's drug-related death.

A speaker unmatched in talent and drive at 87, Linkletter's annual schedule consists of 75 paid speaking engagements, numerous board meetings, national television appearances, as well as a week long surfing trip off the coast of Hawaii and skiing in Park City, Utah.
